FAQ

MATCHING PROCESS

Our host families live in Nijmegen and surrounding villages with good connections to the Wedren. We make sure the start is easily accessible from all addresses. We check this using a postcode check in our system.

When there are enough registrations to match a large number of people, we start a matching round. We do this several times.

The cost of your stay varies depending on the booking.

Bed and breakfast rate: €58.95 per person per night.

Full-board rate: €78.95 per person per night.

In addition, we charge a €15.50 administration fee.

The host family may also charge tourist tax. You can find more information about this here: https://www.vierdaagsebed.nl/algemene-voorwaarden/

Then fill in one joint registration!

On the second page of the registration form, you can add an additional person. Click on the green words ‘Add another person’ and register together!

For walkers:
Do you need additional support during your stay, for example a reminder to take medication? Please indicate this under ‘I have a medical support request or special circumstances to report’ when registering.

For host families:
You are open to hosting a walker who needs some additional support, for example someone with ADHD or other support needs. We will always discuss this in advance, so you know what to expect. If you are not open to this, you can of course indicate this as well.

You can find our terms and conditions here: https://www.vierdaagsebed.nl/algemene-voorwaarden/
All information about cancellations, changes and registration can be found there.

PAYMENTS

We understand that it may feel a little nerve-racking to pay in advance when you do not yet know where you will be staying. Your payment is required to finalize your registration. After your payment, we will look for a suitable host family based on your preferences. Once the match has been made, you will receive all the information about your stay and can contact your host family directly.

As stated in our terms and conditions, we pay all host families within two weeks after the final check-out day.

Have you not received your payment by August 8, 2027? Please contact us as soon as possible.

TRANSPORT

First, ask your host family if they have a bicycle available to borrow or rent. If not, you can rent an OV-fiets or use one of the many other bicycle rental options: https://www.intonijmegen.com/plan-je-bezoek/bereikbaarheid-nijmegen/fietsen-huren

Park your bicycle at one of these locations:

  • Bijleveldsingel, entrance on the Karel de Grote College side and on the side of The Rebyl hotel
  • Oranjesingel, entrance on the city side
  • Julianapark Zuid, entrance at the corner of Fort Kijk in de Potstraat 18
  • Sports field on Fagelstraat, entrance at the corner of Fort Kijk in de Potstraat 18

PLEASE NOTE: Fagelstraat and Julianapark Zuid are only accessible to participants of the 4Daagse. To prevent inconvenience for local residents and to ensure accessibility to the Wedren, bicycles may not be parked outside the designated bicycle parking areas. Your bicycle may be removed if you do so.

During the Vierdaagse, additional early trains and buses operate.

Trains & buses: Check the timetable or use the ‘9292’ app.

Early buses: From Tuesday, July 20 to Friday, July 23, 2027, additional early buses will operate.

Blarenpas: You need a transport ticket for the early buses. These can be purchased at the Breng stand at the Wedren when collecting your starting number.
